Conference website for the second Microbiome Throughout Life meeting
The website for The Microbiome Throughout Life 2027, the second edition of the conference, in Bucharest on 11 to 13 November 2027: program, registration, abstracts, sponsorship and a newsletter that feeds MailerLite.
The Challenge
The first edition in Belgrade had its own site and the community lives on MBTL Community, so the 2027 edition needed a home that felt like the same family without copying either. It had to launch more than a year before the conference, with a countdown, provisional deadlines and a newsletter, and let the PROevents team keep adding speakers, program details and sponsors in Elementor as they are confirmed.
How I Built It
I built the site on WordPress with Hello Elementor and Elementor Pro, using classic containers throughout so every section stays editable by the team. The homepage moves from a countdown and the conference promise to the six reasons to attend, the program structure, the host city and the key dates. The brand carries over from the MBTL identity: Satoshi for type, the pink, navy and teal palette, the microbe illustrations.
Built to grow
Thirteen content pages, from Welcome and Committee to Abstracts, Registration and Prospectus, on shared Elementor templates, so the team fills them in as the program is confirmed.
Newsletter wired to MailerLite
A newsletter band and a popup post to a small custom plugin that talks to MailerLite's current API, with a honeypot and per-IP rate limiting, plus a custom Elementor Pro form action so the team can restyle the form freely.
Part of a family
Links to MBTL Community and the 2026 Belgrade edition, the same visual system across all three sites, and Site Kit analytics from day one.
Results That Matter
MBTL 2027 went live more than a year ahead of the conference with a countdown, provisional deadlines and a working newsletter, so PROevents can start collecting interest before the program exists. The team edits every page in Elementor and the site sits naturally next to MBTL Community and the 2026 edition.
